Lake's Take
Hi friends,

It was an honor and a pleasure to award 62 individuals and 16 companies Excellence in Manufacturing Awards to close out Manufacturing Month 2022. I would especially like to mention our Founder's Award, given to Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, our Manufacturers of the Year - Kaman Aerospace and GRACE Aerospace, and our Partner of the Year, Highlander Consultants. We recognize all you are doing to further manufacturing progress in our region. Additionally, I was delighted to give out the President's Award to our friend Rob Caldwell, who has served FCMA in many ways through the decades, from board member to tri-chair to FloridaMakes consultant and more. We are sad that he is relocating, but we were happy to thank him for his dedication and support in this way. Join me in saying THANK YOU to Rob Caldwell for all he has done!

We hope that you will join us as we close the year strong, either at our Golf Outing on November 10 or our Holiday Party on December 8. We want to celebrate being together and building new connections as we look toward our membership drive and new initiatives in 2023. Thank you for your partnership and support as we continue to advocate and educate manufacturers on the First Coast!

Happy Holidays!
Lake G. Ray III, President

FCMA is very excited about our Leadership Academy training program schedule for 2023!  Our plans are to offer multiple training sessions for Front Line Supervisor 1, Front Line Supervisor 2, Mid-Level Manager, Continuous Improvement and Introduction to Manufacturing, with our first programs beginning in February.  Now is the time to plan for these programs by including training funding in your 2023 budgets for these programs and identifying potential candidates for each class.  Also, if you are interested in pursuing any training grants to help you offset some of these training costs, now is the time to apply for these grants.  If you have any questions, please contact Mike Templeton at mike@templetonms.com or call him at 904-651-4955.

We are seeking companies to host school-aged children interested in learning about careers in Manufacturing! If you're open to hosting a tour to teach today's students and tomorrow's employees, about what you do locally in Jacksonville, please contact our Workforce Development Committee.
